The Sr. Mechanical Engineer designs and delivers advanced mechanical solutions that meet functional, stylistic, geometric, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role leads mechanical design activities, integrates technical deliveries from others, and ensures that designs are ready for release and aligned with business targets. The position requires more than five years of relevant experience and involves contributing to product and system roadmaps, supporting innovation and business development, and acting as a technical leader and mentor within the organization.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical solutions that meet defined prerequisites, including function, style, volume, geometry, cost, quality targets, and applicable regulations.
Lead and support mechanical design engineering activities within assigned technical areas, ensuring robust and efficient solutions.
Play an active role in project delivery by planning, executing, and following up on mechanical design tasks.
Integrate mechanical design deliveries from other engineers and teams, securing technical quality and readiness before release.
Ensure that all mechanical designs fulfill business targets and requirements, including performance, cost, quality, and compliance objectives.
Provide input to product and system roadmaps by contributing technical expertise and insights from mechanical engineering and component history.
Participate in business development and innovation activities, identifying opportunities for new solutions, improvements, and technologies.
Build and maintain networks and relationships with universities and external institutes related to the mechanical engineering discipline.
Develop and manage cross-organizational networking, collaborating effectively with stakeholders across different functions and regions.
Provide inputs to project prerequisites based on component history, lessons learned, and best practices in mechanical design.
Apply advanced mechanical engineering knowledge gained through education and work experience to solve complex technical problems.
Support junior team members and peers by sharing expertise, reviewing work, and offering guidance on mechanical design practices.
Act as a role model for lifelong learning, actively sharing knowledge and developing others as a trainer and/or coach.
Deepen expertise in core mechanical engineering disciplines while broadening capabilities to build a versatile professional profile.

Essential Skills
More than 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in design-focused roles.
Strong proficiency in mechanical design, including concept development and detailed design.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application to product development.
Ability to design mechanical solutions that meet functional, stylistic, geometric, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Experience leading mechanical design activities and taking ownership of technical deliveries.
Capability to integrate and validate mechanical design work from multiple contributors to ensure quality and readiness for release.
Skill in aligning mechanical designs with business targets and requirements.
Experience contributing to product and system roadmaps from a mechanical engineering perspective.
Ability to mentor, coach, and support junior engineers and peers.
Strong communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts and value creation to stakeholders.
Proven ability to work confidently within a wider organizational network and influence technical decisions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
