Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Date Power & Control Team in Reno, NV. This role involves planning, scheduling, coordinating, and controlling processes for the Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Services Teams. You will manage staff in areas such as work scheduling, communication, employee relations, performance counseling, and performance reviews. You will lead a team that supports all phases of production, qualifying and improving manufacturing processes for all products. This position requires promoting a positive attitude, demonstrating initiative, and maintaining professionalism.
Responsibilities
Manage department budgets, staffing, performance reviews, and coordination of employee training and development.
Develop, monitor, and report on overall test engineering performance metrics and key operational indicators.
Coordinate, monitor, and manage projects to ensure timely and successful completion.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and meet organizational commitments.
Develop test specifications, project scopes, and objectives while engaging all relevant stakeholders.
Monitor and improve First Pass Yield (FPY) testing performance.
Promote a positive attitude, strong working relationships, and a sense of urgency among team members.
Foster a safe, clean, and organized work environment while ensuring proper use of equipment.
Coordinate manufacturing support for New Product Introductions (NPI) in both domestic and international facilities.
Manage and oversee engineering activities related to manufacturing processes and product change management.
Establish and maintain production standards, methods, and best practices.
Maintain workflow efficiency by monitoring processes, setting variables, observing control points, managing resources, improving reporting systems, and facilitating corrective actions.
Implement major projects, including plant layout changes, material handling improvements, capital equipment installations, repairs, and facility additions.
Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Partner with Design Engineers to enhance product manufacturability and quality.
Conduct regular meetings with team members and provide ongoing performance feedback and development support.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in a similar industry.
Project management and self-management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
Ability to apply cost/benefits analysis to requested projects.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
Prior experience in managing a staff and leading by example.
Strong knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes.
Ability to successfully lead a team.
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple priorities to deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organization/planning skills.
Ability to work independently.
This position will require up to 25% travel, including some international travel.

Work Environment
This is an on-site role involving a collaborative team environment. The position requires significant international travel (approximately one week per month) to locations such as Mexico, the US, the EU, and Taiwan. The initial ramp-up period may involve 75% travel for the first few months. The work schedule supports a healthy work-life balance with a 40-hour work week and a positive environment. Comprehensive benefits are provided, including a 401K match, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and paid holidays. Additionally, there is a bonus structure of 10%-12%.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
