JOB POSTING: Maintenance Supervisor II
Full-time 40 hours per week | Monday - Thursday, with occasional
rotations on different days/shifts
Wages per Classified Wage Scale | Starting Date: ASAP
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Support the scheduling, organizing, and clean-up of all extra-curricular
& public functions
Higher maintenance levels due to the advanced technology and square
footage. (90,000 sq. ft. or more)
Requires daily inspections of machinery, preventive maintenance
programs, parameter adjustments manually
and/or on the computer, and thermostat calibrations.
Management skills are required as to delegate job assignments to the
custodial staff
A daily routine inspection will be performed of assigned areas and
duties to the custodial staff.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
Education and/or experience with H.V.A.C. equipment, electrical
troubleshooting, automated controls and sensing
units, and boilers and close loop boiler systems is preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
and procedure manuals
Write routine reports and correspondence
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals
REASONING ABILITY:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
in situations where only limited
standardization exists
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram,
or schedule form
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly stand; walk; talk or hear; use hands and fingers to handle, or
feel objects, tools, or controls
Frequently squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward
Continuously use hand strength to grasp tools and climb on to ladders
Frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing job
duties
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies
and pails while unloading trucks
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds such as salt and bulk
furniture
Occasionally push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing
machines
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,
and the ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly work indoors and occasionally work outdoors, and near or with
moving mechanical equipment
May work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products,
degreasers, and sprays
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, boilers, and mechanical
equipment
Estimate material costs, lays out and completes minor projects
Perform preventive maintenance schedules designed by maintenance
supervisor
Observe, maintain, and adjust computer setting involving thermostats and
H.V.A.C. units
Assign and inspect job related duties to custodian under his/her
instruction. (At assigned school)
Report unsafe situations or damage to school property to the maintenance
supervisor and building administrator
Assist in maintaining seasonal ground work (snow, lawn, landscaping)
Perform other duties as may be assigned by building administrator or
maintenance supervisor
