Job Title: Field Technician/ Construction Laborer
Job Description
The Field Technician installs precast concrete walls at new construction sites and supports all phases of the installation process. This role starts each day at the shop, where you prepare materials with the crew, travel together to job sites, and work outdoors to set, seal, and secure concrete wall systems while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities
Arrive at the shop each morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. to meet with the crew and prepare for the day's work.
Assist with loading and organizing tools, equipment, and materials onto company vehicles for transport to job sites.
Travel with the foreman and crew to various new construction sites, with travel time compensated.
Help prepare the installation area by moving materials, shoveling, and performing general site setup tasks.
Set precast concrete walls, including positioning panels accurately according to project specifications.
Use a caulk gun to seal joints and corners of concrete walls to ensure proper weatherproofing and structural integrity.
Tighten bolts and fasteners using wrenches and other hand tools to secure wall panels safely and firmly.
Check walls for level and plumb throughout installation to maintain quality and adherence to building standards.
Perform general labor tasks related to construction, landscaping, and concrete work as needed to support the crew.
Assist with site cleanup at the end of each job, including collecting trash and debris and organizing tools and materials.
Follow safety guidelines and use tools and equipment properly to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and the crew.
Essential Skills
Ability to perform general labor tasks in construction, landscaping, and concrete work.
Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds frequently throughout the workday.
Comfort with constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and twisting in an active field environment.
Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately and consistently.
Experience using basic hand tools such as wrenches and caulk guns.
Willingness to work early morning hours and travel daily to different job sites.
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew, following directions from the foreman and collaborating with team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
General construction work is beneficial.
Experience in landscaping tasks is an advantage for site preparation work.
Familiarity with concrete installation or related trades is preferred.
Strong attention to detail when checking level, plumb, and proper placement of materials.
Reliability and punctuality for early start times and full-day field work.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized job site.

Work Environment
This role is based in an outdoor field environment on new construction builds, with exposure to hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter. Workdays begin early at the shop, where the crew gathers and loads materials before traveling together to job sites. The position involves frequent lifting up to 20 pounds, constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and twisting, and regular use of hand tools such as wrenches and caulk guns. Attire should be appropriate for outdoor construction work, including durable clothing and footwear suitable for varying weather and site conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ephrata, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
