Overview: The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing the
financial integrity, accuracy, and stewardship of Green Lake Conference
Center\'s financial operations, while also providing financial
management, oversight, and compliance with all applicable legal and
regulatory standards for three separate tax entities: American Baptist
Assembly (doing business as Green Lake Conference Center), Worldwide
Gifts, and Lawsonia Inc. This role serves as the direct leader of the
Business and Finance Team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, and donation stewardship within Salesforce, ensuring strong
operational execution, accountability, and excellent financial service
across the organization. The Controller leads timely and accurate
financial reporting and provides financial insight to the Board and
senior leadership to support informed strategic decision-making. The
role safeguards organizational resources through effective systems,
internal controls, policies, and compliance practices, and provides
leadership in accounting operations, budgeting, audit coordination, and
regulatory compliance. This position supports GLCC\'s mission through
strong fiscal management, transparency, and collaboration across the
organization, ensuring sound stewardship and long-term sustainability
across all entities. Financial Management & Business Operations
Leadership (35%) Provide overall leadership and oversight of daily
accounting and finance operations across all entities, including general
ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination,
donation stewardship through Salesforce, and cash management. Directly
lead, develop, and support the Business & Finance Team, ensuring strong
performance, accountability, training, and cross-coverage of critical
functions. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general
ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and
cash management. Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarterly, and
year-end close processes. Maintain and monitor internal controls to
safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance across all
entities. Review reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, cash
operations, restricted funds, and designated funds. Ensure proper
accounting for restricted funds, designated reserves, and
ministry-specific funds. Financial Reporting & Analysis (20%) Prepare
and present timely, accurate financial statements and reports for
leadership and Board review. Develop financial analyses to support
operational and strategic decision-making. Monitor budget performance
and provide variance analysis with recommendations. Support financial
forecasting and long-range financial planning efforts. Budgeting, Audit
& Compliance Support (15%) Coordinate the annual budgeting process in
partnership with department leaders. Serve as the primary liaison with
external auditors, tax professionals, and financial consultants. Support
external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, donor
restrictions, and applicable federal and state laws. Manage grant
accounting, restricted fund tracking, and compliance with donor and
government requirements Treasury, Cash & Investment Management (20%)
Monitor organizational cash balances and overall liquidity. Create and
maintain cash flowbudgets and forecasts. Initiate cash transfers
between accounts to optimize interest earnings while maintaining
liquidity. Maintain reserve cash schedules and project savings
spreadsheets. Maintain and reconcile investment and endowment accounts.
Maintain authorized access to bank and investment accounts and ensure
appropriate controls over account permissions. Reconcile investment
activity and ensure accurate recording in the general ledger. Board,
Governance, Leadership & Support (10%) Prepare financial materials and
reports for Board and committee meetings. Support Board-level financial
transparency, stewardship, and long-term sustainability planning. Serve
as a trusted financial advisor to executive and department leadership.
Provide guidance and support to finance staff and cross-functional
partners. Support a culture of accountability, transparency, and
faithful stewardship of resources. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications Qualifications & Core Competencies A
follower of Jesus Christ who supports GLCC\'s mission and values. Strong
understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and financial
management. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and
professionalism. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving
skills. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to
non-financial leaders. Experience with financial systems (QuickBooks or
similar preferred). Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet
deadlines in a dynamic environment. Collaborative leadership style with
attention to detail and accuracy. Valid driver\'s license preferred.
Education & Experience Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance,
business administration, or a related field required. CPA or equivalent
professional certification preferred but not required. Minimum of 3
years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within
a nonprofit or mission-driven organization. 1 year experience leading,
supervising, and developing finance or administrative staff, with
responsibility for performance management, training, and workflow
oversight. Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, audits,
internal controls, and regulatory compliance required. Schedule &
Commitment: Typical work hours are flexible between 7:00 AM 6:00 PM,
Monday-Friday. Evening and/or additional weekend support may be required
