The Finance Manager leads the accounting and finance operations of a growing manufacturing organization. This role serves as a strategic business partner to operational leadership, providing financial guidance, analytical support, and oversight of the organization's financial health. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing aerospace manufacturing environment in Springfield, MA, with a contract role that has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial functions, including the general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Manage month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Analyze financial performance, prepare variance analyses, and clearly communicate results and insights to management.
Lead accounts receivable activities and support customer collections efforts to optimize cash flow.
Oversee purchasing processes and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement and strong supplier partnerships.
Partner with operational leadership to drive business performance, efficiency, and profitability.
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting and purchasing staff to build a high-performing team.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement operational efficiencies across finance and accounting operations.
Support corporate reporting requirements and contribute to strategic initiatives and decision-making.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
Experience leading accounting and finance teams.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Demonstrated experience with accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Experience in manufacturing finance, including cost accounting and cost analysis.
Proven ability to analyze financial statements and communicate insights to leadership.
Excellent communication, leadership, and business partnering abilities.
Prior experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CPA or MBA preferred.
Experience in process improvement within finance and accounting functions.
Background in financial reporting for manufacturing organizations.
Experience supporting corporate reporting requirements and strategic initiatives.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site in a fast-growing aerospace manufacturing facility in Springfield, MA. The Finance Manager works closely with operational and leadership teams in a dynamic, production-oriented environment that emphasizes collaboration between finance and operations. The position is structured as a contract role with the potential to transition to a permanent position in 2027 for a candidate who demonstrates strong performance and alignment with organizational needs.

This is a Contract position based out of West Springfield, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $67.31/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
