Partner with global engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, project, construction, commissioning, HSE, and quality teams.
Lead supplier and manufacturing quality improvements that directly affect product conformity, manufacturing readiness, environmental responsibility, shipment quality, and customer satisfaction.
Develop professionally through supplier audits, ISO management-system activities, Lean continuous improvement, FMEA-based risk prevention, and digital quality/reporting initiatives.
Summary:
Deploy, lead, and continuously improve supplier quality and supply-chain quality systems, processes, tools, and performance across Voith Hydro.
Ensure qualified, capable, and compliant suppliers are used to support hydroelectric projects, manufacturing operations, testing, logistics, customer requirements, and project execution.
Provide functional leadership for supplier qualification and release, supplier audits, supplier performance management, corrective and preventive actions, supplier development, lessons learned, and management-system improvements.
Serve as a key interface between the project, customer, suppliers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, Project Quality, Construction & Commissioning, HSE, and Quality teams.
Help ensure project quality requirements are deployed across suppliers and manufacturing activities and that quality issues are prevented before shipment and construction/commissioning.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Qualification, Audit, and Performance Management
Qualify, release, conditionally approve, suspend, or block suppliers based on audits, performance evaluations, certifications, defined criteria, product-specific quality capability, and quality risk.
Plan, lead, and document supplier audits and supplier surveillance activities in accordance with ISO 19011 practices and Voith Hydro supplier-quality requirements.
Monitor supplier certifications, quality management systems, manufacturing controls, traceability practices, inspection records, product conformity evidence, and compliance documentation.
Manage supplier performance using defined KPIs, scorecards, audit findings, nonconformance data, corrective actions, preventive actions, and improvement plans.
Initiate and drive supplier corrective actions, root-cause analysis, A3/8D problem solving, CAPA, containment, and verification of effectiveness.
Project, Inspection, and Release Readiness
Coordinate source inspections, customer inspections, witness and hold points, FATs/FAIs, supplier surveillance audits, and quality documentation reviews for products and services supplied to Voith Hydro projects.
Act as a primary quality interface among the project, customer, suppliers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics,Project Quality, and Quality teams for supplier/manufacturing-related quality topics.
Support project quality requirement deployment across suppliers and manufacturing activities, including review of ITPs, MGS, QS, GS, EXI, FMEAs, technical risk management inputs, inspection requirements, acceptance criteria, and supplier-specific quality controls.
Support sourcing strategy and procurement readiness by assessing supplier quality risks, verifying supplier qualification needs, and ensuring critical suppliers are approved and qualified prior to procurement start where required.
Monitor execution of project ITPs, critical inspections, test activities, FAT records, supplier audit/visit findings, and action plans to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
Ensure readiness for Quality Release and shipment by confirming required release documentation, certificates, traceability records, inspection/test records, and supplier-related NCR closure are complete and available.
Manufacturing, Environmental, and Management-System Support
Support manufacturing facility quality controls by ensuring supplier material certifications, NDT documentation, dimensional inspection results, welding records, coating documentation, test reports, and lot/heat traceability meet requirements.
Evaluate supplier environmental controls and compliance expectations related to hazardous materials, chemical management, waste handling, spill prevention, pollution control, emergency preparedness, and lifecycle influence where applicable.
Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BMS, customer, internal, external, and supplier audit activities, including corrective-action tracking, management-review inputs, and evidence of effective controls.
Capture, apply, and transfer lessons learned across supplier, manufacturing, logistics, project, and quality activities; ensure applicable management-system changes and supplier controls are implemented.
Support cost optimization, OPEX, Lean, QHSE KPIs, reporting, dashboards, digital quality tools, data management, and process-standardization initiatives across the supply chain.
Travel to supplier, manufacturing, project, and customer locations as required, up to approximately 50%.
