Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
At least a 75% of the monthly Section meetings
75% of quarterly APP Meetings
50% of the monthly CME and M&M meetings
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
Scheduled Acute Care Education sessions
Participation in 1 high fidelity code simulation per academic year
Other technical seminars as deemed mandatory by the section and/or practice site in conjunction with input from the Medical Director

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
Active Colorado NP or PA license or ability to apply
Current DEA or ability to apply
Current PALS Certification
NPs must hold Pediatric Acute Care Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years of experience as nurse practitioner or physician assistant in pediatrics or an acute care setting.

Instructors are Clinical Faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine that work at Children's Hospital Coloradoin an emergency care settings. They provide medical care to acutely ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents in our 24/7 and afterhours network of Emergency facilities. In this role, they perform history and physical examinations to define and execute appropriate workup that leads to diagnosis, treatment, and disposition. Work in this setting will require technical and procedural skills and may require pediatric resuscitation and advanced life support. In addition, Clinical Faculty are involved with institutional quality and patient safety improvement and development of clinical care guidelines that aim to provide consistent, quality care throughout our institution and are core members of the clinical Pediatric teaching staff for University of Colorado School of Medicine.The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Maintain Colorado State certifications based on requirements of a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant. Clinical Faculty in the Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Network of Care (NOC) and Emergency Department provide medical care to acutely ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents; perform history and physical examinations; and define and execute appropriate workup that leads to diagnosis, treatment, and disposition. Clinical coverage includes days, evenings, overnight and weekend shifts based on CFTE. Clinical hours will also include major and minor holidays allocated proportionately. Expected attendance at section meetings: Maintain skills in urgent/emergent care of children by completing the following:
