Job Title: Deburrer Job Description

Deburring is a finishing process used in manufacturing to remove small imperfections called burrs-tiny raised edges, ridges, or slivers of material that remain on a part after machining, cutting, drilling, stamping, or welding. These burrs can compromise safety, functionality, and assembly fit if not removed.

Responsibilities

Perform deburring and finishing operations on metal parts after machining.

Use hand tools, pneumatic grinders, and small power tools to smooth surfaces.

Inspect parts visually to verify compliance with specifications.

Follow blueprints and work instructions to ensure accuracy.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to company safety policies.

Communicate with machinists and quality inspectors to resolve issues promptly.

Essential Skills

Deburring, polishing, and grinding expertise.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection processes.

Experience in manufacturing quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Attention to detail and ability to work with small precision components.

Familiarity with blueprint reading and basic measurement tools preferred.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Previous experience in manufacturing or metal finishing is a plus.

Entry-level candidates may be considered.

Strong reliability and attendance are emphasized as key success factors.

Work Environment

Work the 1st shift from 6am-2:30pm, totaling 40 hours a week, with potential overtime as needed. Join a family-owned business established in 1987, located in a 130,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Union, Illinois, 50 miles west of Chicago. Be part of a team of approximately 140 employees, operating in a 24/7 environment with cutting-edge equipment and technology. The facility includes over 90 pieces of manufacturing equipment, including Matsuura and Makino machining centers. Our flexible machining systems enable efficient production for both small and large orders, serving markets such as hydraulics, agriculture, medical, and more. We are a registered and certified Department of Defense contractor and an approved supplier for the US Federal Government.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marengo, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
