Job description
Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility serves as the North American headquarters for our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV), providing a crucial role in Safran's global Aerosafety Division. At this site, you will design, manufacture, maintain, and support cutting-edge aircraft evacuation systems, such as emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices. Stock Clerk Responsibilities:
Receive, unload, inspect, and store materials, raw stock, parts, sub-assemblies, customer-furnished property, and supplies.
Verify incoming shipments against receiving reports, purchase orders, packing slips, transfer documents, and other applicable records for accuracy, quantity, routing, and part identification.
Sign bills of lading and receiving documentation as authorized.
Store materials following established inventory control and stockroom procedures.
Relocate, reorganize, and label inventory as necessary to maintain efficient storage and retrieval processes.
Issue materials, parts, sub-assemblies, and supplies for manufacturing, stock transfers, sales orders, and production work orders using first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices.
Process receiving, stocking, and inventory transactions accurately within the company's ERP and inventory management systems.
Review inventory documentation for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.
Perform daily inventory cycle counts and assist with investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
Process non-conforming material returns and complete required inventory transactions for bonded or designated inventory locations.
Handle customer returns and maintain accurate records regarding storage, disposition, or disposal of returned materials.
Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure proper identification and traceability of materials.
Maintain stockroom organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping in compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and material handling processes.
Adhere to safe work practices and contribute to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
Perform other assigned duties as required.

Candidate skills & requirements
-Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Required.
-Requires 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving chemical, adhesive, or hazardous materials handling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-Experience working under environmental and transportation regulations related to hazardous materials (e.g., EPA, DOT, CFR 49 or equivalent) - Preferred
Knowledge/Skills
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and manuals
-Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, in various units of measure
-Manual dexterity and ability to handle small components and materials accurately and safely.
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
-Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage, and labeling practices
-Ability to prepare hazardous products and waste for transportation in accordance with defined procedures
-Ability to perform and document daily inspections of hazardous waste areas, including housekeeping and container condition
-Attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring products meet specifications and customer expectations
-Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, supporting colleagues and maintaining professional conduct
-Ability to train and support new employees in job tasks and safety practices
-Initiative and ownership in identifying and supporting continuous improvement opportunities
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
-Certification to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack), as required by site procedures - Preferred
Physical Demands
-Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and handle materials in a factory setting.
-Frequently required to bend, stoop, and lift or maneuver material; may be required to lift and/or move moderate weights with or without assistance.
-Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and containers associated with adhesives and hazardous materials.
-Must be able to see with correct vision (e.g., safety inspections of containers, labels, and documentation).
-May be required to wear appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, respirators where applicable) for extended periods.
Work Environment
-Work is performed in a factory setting with generally good lighting, ventilation, and workspace.
-Noise levels are typically moderate but may vary depending on production activities.
