Job Title: Industrial Painter
Job Description
We are seeking experienced Industrial Painters to join a growing production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this hands-on role, you prepare, sandblast, and paint large equipment components and fabricated steel parts while meeting strict production, safety, and quality standards. You will work with industrial primers, paints, and protective coatings on large-scale industrial machinery and equipment, with steady work and regular overtime opportunities.
Responsibilities
Prepare heavy equipment components and fabricated metal parts for painting, including cleaning and surface preparation.
Perform sandblasting operations to clean and prepare surfaces for coatings.
Apply industrial primers, paints, and protective coatings using spray equipment such as conventional, HVLP, or airless systems.
Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and coating specifications are met.
Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications to achieve proper color, viscosity, and performance.
Mask and protect surfaces that do not require paint to prevent overspray and ensure clean lines.
Maintain paint booths, blasting equipment, spray guns, and related tools in good working order.
Follow safety procedures related to painting, sandblasting, hazardous materials handling, and respiratory protection.
Perform touch-up work and rework as needed to correct defects and meet finishing standards.
Assist in moving, staging, and handling large equipment components throughout the finishing and production process.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.
Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
Essential Skills
2-5 years of industrial painting and/or sandblasting experience preferred.
Experience applying industrial coatings using conventional, HVLP (high volume low pressure), or airless spray systems.
Hands-on experience with industrial painting for machinery, paint preparation, and spray gun operation.
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application processes for metal and fabricated steel structures.
Ability to work with large fabricated steel structures, equipment, and machinery components safely and efficiently.
Experience operating or working around blasting equipment and paint booth systems.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and manufacturing procedures accurately.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, lifting, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Automotive painting experience is encouraged and considered highly relevant.
Familiarity with industrial painting for heavy machinery and large-scale equipment.
Ability to adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining quality standards.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and quality teams.

Work Environment
This role is based in a busy manufacturing and production facility focused on large-scale industrial machinery and fabricated steel components. You work primarily in paint booths and blasting areas, using spray guns, HVLP systems, airless sprayers, blasting equipment, and related finishing tools. The environment is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, bending, lifting, and the consistent use of required PPE such as respiratory protection and other safety gear. You collaborate closely with production and quality teams in a fast-paced setting where meeting schedules and customer deadlines is important, and overtime is regularly available to support workload demands. The standard shift runs from early morning until approximately 2:30 p.m., providing a structured daytime schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sherwood, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
