Material Handler / Inventory Clerk / Order Processing

ABOUT THE POSITION

This is an active, hands-on support position---not a job where the employee sits at a desk all day. Although the role includes a significant amount of computer-related work, the employee will regularly move between teams and work areas to provide support wherever it is needed.

Daily responsibilities may shift among order processing, inventory handling, shipping, receiving, product documentation and general clerical support. The ideal candidate will enjoy variety, be comfortable changing priorities and be willing to step in and help different departments throughout the company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately pull electronic components and other parts for customer orders

Process customer, discrete and eBay orders

Verify part numbers, quantities, country of origin, date codes, product photographs and data sheets

Check incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy, quality and conformance to manufacturer specifications

Receive, count and properly store incoming inventory

Return unused or processed material to the correct inventory locations

Assist with processing new and existing inventory while maintaining inventory accuracy

Audit inventory and investigate quantity or location discrepancies

Take clear photographs of parts, labels and packaging when requested

Locate and maintain test reports and other product documentation

Perform basic functionality tests when appropriate

Complete daily reel-counter and scale verifications

Assist with shipping, receiving, order paperwork and other clerical duties

Move between departments and provide support to different team members as workloads and priorities change

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

At least one year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory or order-processing experience

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Basic computer skills; computer proficiency may be tested during the hiring process

Experience with Microsoft Office required; Microsoft Access and QuickBooks experience is a plus

Ability to read part numbers and distinguish between similar-looking components

Ability to balance computer-related work with active warehouse and inventory responsibilities

Comfortable moving between work areas, changing tasks and assisting multiple departments

Dependable attendance and willingness to work a full-time schedule

Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to work proactively

Flexible, team-oriented and willing to provide support wherever needed

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to bend, squat, reach and lift items overhead
