Responsibilities If selected, you will serve as a Human Resources (HR) Specialist within the United States Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Michigan. The work involves providing a variety of human resources management services in two or more of the following functional areas: recruitment and placement, position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, labor relations, and human resources development. Assignments include both day-to-day case processing, advice and assistance to management and staff, and special projects. Providing advice and assistance on the processes and procedures of performance management systems and incentive award programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS07: To be eligible at the GS-07 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service as defined below; or education; or a combination of both specialized experience and education. Specialized experience is defined as experience advising management officials on various HR processes and procedures governing HR functions such as recruitment and placement, classification, employee relations, benefits, HR development, or performance management; researching, interpreting and applying applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to HR subjects; planning, developing, and managing a personnel records program; ensuring accurate processing of all personnel actions; experience analyzing data and proposing solutions to HR matters; preparing detailed documentation and/or responses for resolution of formal and informal inquiries; or communicating factual and procedural HR information clearly both orally and in writing. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such degree, or LL.M., from an accredited college or university in a field of study that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of Human Resources.
