Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work as a Maintenance Technician on 2nd or 3rd shift in a clean, air-conditioned, and well-organized manufacturing facility. You will complete a structured training period on 1st shift before transitioning to off-shift work. The position focuses on repairing and performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of production equipment, with an emphasis on CNC lathes and mills, while collaborating closely with a supportive maintenance team.
Responsibilities
Complete a mandatory training period on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for at least six months and potentially up to one year before moving to 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.).
Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on CNC machines, including CNC lathes and mills, to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
Maintain and repair Hydromat machines, screw machines, grinding machines, Fanuc robots, and assembly cell equipment.
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Carry out manual machining and fabrication tasks as needed to produce parts and components for fixtures and other machine-related needs.
Utilize a hi-lo (forklift) and overhead crane to safely move, relocate, or position machines and equipment within the facility.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on industrial machinery.
Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members and production staff to resolve equipment issues and support ongoing operations.
Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with machinery, tools, lifting equipment, and industrial systems.
Maintain an organized work area within the maintenance tool room and contribute to the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
Communicate equipment status, repairs, and maintenance activities clearly and accurately to supervisors and team members.
Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, accept training, and adapt to new technologies and processes as needed.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience in maintenance and machine repair on industrial equipment.
A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in CNC machine repair.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on industrial machinery.
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components.
Working knowledge of pneumatic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic components.
Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support coworkers as needed.
Valid driver's license.
Willingness and ability to train on 1st shift for at least six months and potentially up to one year before moving to an off shift.
Capability to use and maintain personal tools required for maintenance work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with Hydromat machines, screw machines, and grinding machines.
Experience maintaining or troubleshooting Fanuc robots and automated assembly cells.
Background in manual machining and fabrication for creating fixtures and machine components.
Comfort using a hi-lo (forklift) and overhead crane to move or relocate equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing equipment issues.
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn from an experienced maintenance team.
Ability to work independently on off shifts while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Work Environment
The work environment is very clean, organized, and air conditioned, providing a comfortable and professional setting for maintenance work. The facility is well lit and houses more than 50 machines, primarily CNC equipment, along with Hydromat machines, screw machines, grinding machines, Fanuc robots, and assembly cells. You will operate on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) after completing a required training period on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). The role involves using a hi-lo (forklift) and overhead crane to move or relocate machinery, and you will be expected to bring and use your own tools for daily maintenance tasks. The overall atmosphere is friendly and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and mutual support.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
