Accommodations Coordinator
We're seeking an Accommodations Coordinator to play a critical role in managing workplace accommodation requests and helping employees navigate the interactive accommodation process with professionalism, empathy, and expertise.
In this highly collaborative position, you'll partner with employees, managers, HR professionals, healthcare providers, and legal partners to ensure accommodation requests are handled efficiently, confidentially, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. What You'll DoLead Accommodation Case Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requesting workplace and leave-related accommodations, delivering a responsive, supportive, and confidential experience.
Independently manage a caseload of accommodation requests from initial intake through case resolution.
Facilitate the ADA interactive process by gathering medical documentation, assessing essential job functions, collaborating with stakeholders, and identifying effective accommodation solutions.
Review and evaluate accommodation requests while balancing employee needs with business operations and compliance requirements.
Assess accommodation options, identify implementation challenges, and develop practical, sustainable solutions with business leaders.
Review medical certifications and supporting documentation, determine additional information needs, and maintain comprehensive case records.
Monitor approved accommodations and conduct follow-up reviews to ensure accommodations remain effective and appropriate.
Partner & Advise
Provide guidance to managers and HR partners regarding accommodation obligations, return-to-work considerations, and best practices for supporting employees with disabilities.
Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Employee Relations, Legal, Leave Administration, and external partners on accommodation-related matters.
Support complex accommodation requests, undue hardship assessments, and sensitive employee relations situations.
Drive Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with the ADA, FMLA, PWFA, PUMP Act, and applicable state and local laws.
Maintain accommodation tracking systems and case documentation with exceptional attention to detail.
Produce reports, monitor key metrics, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
Assist with audits, policy updates, training initiatives, and special projects that strengthen accommodation programs across the organization.
What You BringRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of experience in ADA accommodations, disability management, leave administration, employee relations, or a related HR function.
Demonstrated knowledge of the ADA, FMLA, PWFA, PUMP Act, and applicable state disability and leave laws.
Experience independently managing accommodation cases and facilitating the interactive process.
Strong organizational, analytical, and case management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
Experience in retail, corporate, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
Experience partnering with Legal, Employee Relations, Occupational Health, or Leave Administration teams.
HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, CLMS, or equivalent.

This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $44.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
