Medical Receptionist

Description We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join a healthcare team in Reynoldsburg, Ohio in a Contract to Permanent position. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping create a welcoming and efficient front office environment while supporting daily clinical operations. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative skills, sound judgment, and a patient-centered approach to scheduling, documentation, and communication.

Responsibilities:

Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and compassion while managing front desk interactions throughout the day.

Coordinate appointments across multiple providers and services to support an organized and efficient patient schedule.

Enter and maintain accurate patient information, ensuring records remain current, complete, and well organized.

Support virtual visits by assisting with telehealth scheduling, communication, and patient readiness as needed.

Safeguard confidential patient and organizational information by following healthcare privacy standards and office policies.

Track front office supply levels, assist with equipment calendar coordination, and help maintain an orderly reception area.

Recognize urgent concerns and route them promptly to clinical team members or leadership for appropriate follow-up.

Partner with providers and administrative staff to keep daily operations running smoothly and deliver a positive patient experience. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Prior experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare front office role is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with electronic health records, practice management systems, and patient communication platforms is preferred.

Experience using Athenahealth is a plus.

Basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-focused approach are required.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
