Lunds & Byerlys is seeking an experienced Retail Maintenance Technician to support multiple store locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area.

What You'll Do
As a Retail Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems and equipment, including:
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing facility and equipment issues in retail grocery environments.
Performing preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.
Prioritizing and completing work orders to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings to accurately diagnose and repair equipment.
Using CMMS and preventive maintenance systems to document repairs, schedule maintenance, and track work completed.
Operating welding equipment, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
Managing inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Communicating repair status and maintenance updates with store leadership and team members.
Providing outstanding customer service while working in active retail environments.
Independently managing work across multiple store locations.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Two-year technical degree or equivalent maintenance experience.
5+ years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience.
Trade certification in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, millwright, machining, or a related field.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses, including:
Forklift certification
Scissor lift certification
Boiler license
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification
Experience utilizing CMMS or preventive maintenance management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Facilities maintenance experience in grocery, retail, or similar commercial environments.
Experience managing maintenance documentation and administrative tasks.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain tools, parts inventories, and workspaces efficiently.
Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Work Environment
This position supports multiple Lunds & Byerlys locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area. You'll work in both customer-facing retail spaces and back-of-house operational areas, using a variety of maintenance equipment, welding tools, diagnostic instruments, and computer systems.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, solving problems on the fly, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism while interacting with store teams and customers.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
