Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description
This position involves designing, developing, and revising components or systems to meet customer expectations regarding performance, quality, cost, and delivery. The role includes the generalized design of entire machines and specialized design of components such as work equipment, undercarriage systems (hydraulic, electrical, cooling, engine installations), and attachments.
Responsibilities
Develop drawings, design parts, specify components, and create assemblies using 3D CAD software while adhering to relevant standards.
Communicate effectively through clear, concise memos, and draft technical documentation such as Parts and Service News, Operation Manuals, and Shop Manuals.
Discuss, negotiate, and resolve specification issues with manufacturing and suppliers during proto@type development and pre-series production, accommodating manufacturing capabilities and limitations.
Conduct design reviews to meet established project quality, cost, and delivery targets, presenting design concepts and progress at meetings.
Utilize continuous improvement techniques to enhance quality, reduce costs, and decrease lead times.
Maintain effective engineering change control by preparing and processing appropriate engineering release letters and releasing drawings into bills of material using software like GDMS and SAP.
Interface with other groups and suppliers to exchange technical information and policies.
Support production, service, and QA departments by resolving problems, determining root causes, and planning countermeasures with effective documentation.
Recognize and document new technology, submitting for possible patent application, and propose ideas for features that could improve market share and profitability.
Travel to machine worksites to participate in surveys, investigate problems, understand applications, determine customer expectations, and evaluate countermeasures.
Essential Skills
BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) with approximately 3-5 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with sufficient experience.
Proficiency in engineering principles, including structural mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer, electricity, ergonomics, 3D CAD, and data management.
Experience with 3D CAD software (Pro Engineer Wildfire 2.0 or 4.0), Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of engineering standards in drawing practice, dimensioning and tolerancing, drawing symbols, and welding practice.
Understanding and use of ISO and SAE standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Creo and Windchill is a plus.
Experience in new product development.
Familiarity with hoses, tubes, brackets, and light fabrication structures.
Mechanical Aptitude or FEA is always nice.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment where travel to machine worksites, both domestically and internationally, may be required. The use of 3D CAD software and other engineering and data management tools is integral to the work. Employees are expected to dress professionally as per the industry standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
