Vice President Global Supply Chain & Strategic Sourcing
Build the Supply Chain Strategy Behind an Industry Leader
What if your next executive role wasn't about maintaining an existing supply chain?
What if it was about helping shape the future of an organization with market-leading brands, a loyal customer base, a significant global supplier network, and a leadership team that genuinely values collaboration, trust, and long-term thinking?
Manpower Engineering is conducting a confidential executive search on behalf of a highly respected industrial manufacturer seeking a Vice President, Global Supply Chain & Strategic Sourcing.
This role represents far more than procurement leadership.
You'll serve as a key member of the divisional executive leadership team and will have direct influence over sourcing strategy, supplier quality, logistics, product development support, risk management, operational performance, and long-term business strategy. You'll work closely with executive leadership to help ensure the supply chain remains a competitive advantage while supporting continued growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
Executive Seat at the Table
This position is a member of the division's Business Leadership Team.
You'll help shape decisions that extend well beyond sourcing, including product strategy, operational priorities, investment decisions, organizational development, and long-range planning.
Lead a Strong Team, Not a Turnaround
One of the most attractive aspects of this opportunity is the team already in place.
You'll inherit experienced sourcing leaders, commodity experts, supplier quality leadership, logistics leadership, and an established organization with a strong foundation. Leadership is not looking for someone to fix a broken function. They're seeking someone who can build upon existing strengths and help position the organization for the future.
Drive Meaningful Strategic Initiatives:
The next leader will have an opportunity to make a visible impact through several major business initiatives, including:
Global supply chain diversification and risk mitigation
Expansion beyond China into broader international sourcing regions
ERP transformation and business process modernization
Commodity strategy optimization
Acquisition integration
Supplier performance enhancement
Leadership succession planning and organizational development
Influence Product Strategy:
Unlike many procurement organizations that engage after designs are complete, sourcing is involved early in product development.
This leader will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to influence sourcing strategy, supplier selection, value engineering initiatives, and new product development decisions.
Join a Culture Built on Trust:
Throughout the search process, leadership consistently emphasized the same themes:
Low ego
Low politics
High trust
Collaboration
Humility
Shared accountability
Success in this role will depend as much on leadership style and executive presence as it will on technical supply chain expertise.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead global sourcing, procurement, supplier quality, and logistics functions.
Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategy.
Drive supplier performance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Lead strategic negotiations involving key global suppliers and critical commodities.
Support diversification of international sourcing activities.
Partner with engineering, operations, manufacturing, finance, and executive leadership.
Participate in strategic business planning and divisional leadership activities.
Lead supply chain support efforts for new product development initiatives.
Support ERP transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Develop future leaders and strengthen organizational capability.
Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base and internal organization.
What We're Looking For:
Successful candidates will likely bring a combination of:
Executive-level supply chain leadership experience
Industrial manufacturing experience
Global sourcing expertise
Multi-site manufacturing support experience
Supplier negotiation and commodity management leadership
Supply chain risk management experience
Supplier quality and logistics leadership exposure
Experience participating on executive leadership teams
Strong cross-functional partnership skills
Candidates who have progressed through areas such as engineering, operations, manufacturing, sourcing, procurement, or general management environments will be particularly attractive.
The Ideal Leader:

We're looking for a business leader who understands how supply chains drive competitive advantage.
Someone equally comfortable discussing:
Commodity strategy
Product development
Manufacturing operations
ERP implementation
Global sourcing
Organizational development
Business performance
Executive strategy
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational credibility and leads through influence, collaboration, and sound judgment.
Location & Travel:

Domestic and international travel as required
