Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Position Summary:
This position will be responsible to successfully operate all equipment within the bonding process (either in small parts [bond layup / de-flash / surface prep], or large parts). Standard work methods and safe work habits must be followed to ensure conformance to customer requirements. This position reports to a Value Stream Manager and works under the direction of a Team Lead.
This is a first shift position, Monday-Thursday, 5:15am-3:15pm.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
*Inspects incoming goods including visual inspection and dimensional inspection utilizing micrometers, calipers, microscopes as well as other applicable measuring tools.
*Measures parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy, using precision measuring instruments, templates, jigs, and fixtures.
*Accepts or rejects parts and assemblies and prepares documentation to record inspection results, rework required, and disposition of unacceptable products.
*Liaison with other production personnel to coordinate inspection process and to discuss inspection results.
*Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
*Actively participates in continual improvement activities.
*Accurately labels parts using prescribed template measurements.
Follows established Work Instructions, Procedures, and guidelines.
Accountable for the quality of his/her work product.
Detects and reports defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Candidate skills & requirements
Job Specifications
High school diploma or high school equivalency required.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Successful completion of relevant coursework in an accredited advanced manufacturing program may be substituted for experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with composite materials preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with metric system preferred.
Excellent hand eye coordination including the ability to manipulate small items with speed and accuracy. Capable of producing fine finish work and assembling components accurately
Requires good organization skills and attention to detail.
Capable of working with epoxy and adhesive materials.
Ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills including software data entry and keyboarding.
Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards preferred.
Physically capable of working while wearing a respirator.
Working Conditions
The work is performed in a plant environment. Employee will be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
Lighting and temperature are adequate.
Eye protection must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard work day.
Ear protection must be worn during certain operations, approximately 10% of a standard work day.
Respirators must be worn during certain processes, approximately 10% of a standard work day.
Various moving parts and machinery common to manufacturing facilities.
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
Regularly required to stand and walk.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
