Job Title: Electrical Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate quantity takeoffs and developing unit cost pricing, while collaborating with engineers to understand project scopes.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents.

Perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.

Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc., to utilize in estimates.

Input estimate takeoff information for specific disciplines and develop unit cost pricing.

Work with engineers to develop a clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimates.

Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.

Assist senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient and seek ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.

Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized manner.

Maintain and update the data library of costs.

Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers.

Essential Skills

3+ years of experience as an estimator in Manufacturing and/or Mechanical/Electrical/Process Piping contracting.

Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Seven years of relevant experience.

Working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure.

Working knowledge of a commercially available construction cost estimating system.

Understanding and utilization of Information Technology in the performance of work, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, RA, or any appraisal licensure is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $67.00/hr.
