Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and systems to support continuous production operations. This role ensures the efficient execution of production tooling changes, performs routine and emergency electrical and mechanical maintenance, and supports overall plant operations. The technician focuses on keeping production equipment running reliably, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Responsibilities
Safely maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and systems to support continuous production operations.
Monitor production schedules and perform extrusion tooling changeovers to ensure efficient and timely production runs.
Perform routine and emergency electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, including motors, forklifts, and company vehicles.
Conduct electrical troubleshooting and maintenance on systems such as variable frequency drives (VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance leadership to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support production needs.
Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future repairs or improvements.
Respond to on-call emergencies and provide timely support to resolve equipment failures and restore operations.
Participate in and contribute to safety initiatives, promoting a safe work environment and adherence to safety procedures.
Train team members on proper maintenance practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, recommending cost-effective repair solutions, and implementing process improvements.
Assist with the maintenance and reliability of extrusion machines and related equipment, including tooling and associated systems.
Essential Skills
At least 10 years of experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Technician.
Strong proficiency in routine electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, including work with VFDs and PLCs.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics accurately.
Ability to operate general office equipment and use maintenance-related applications on a microcomputer.
Demonstrated experience safely maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial plant equipment and systems.
Experience performing both routine and emergency electrical and mechanical maintenance in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience with extrusion machines and extrusion tooling changeovers is a plus.
Experience maintaining motors, forklifts, and company vehicles in an industrial setting.
Knowledge in documenting maintenance activities and using maintenance software or applications.
Experience collaborating with supervisors and maintenance leadership in a manufacturing or plant environment.
Ability to train and mentor team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement within a production facility.

Work Environment
The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with participation in on-call rotations to support emergency maintenance needs. Work is performed in an industrial plant environment focused on continuous production operations, with regular interaction with extrusion machines, motors, forklifts, and other production equipment. The technician uses maintenance-related applications on microcomputers and general office equipment to document work and support operations. The environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration, with expectations for adherence to safety procedures and readiness to respond to urgent equipment issues as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
