SUMMARY
This position is responsible for oversight of the Information Technology (IT) department to enhance the functionality of the EHR/PM software used by Children's Clinics, including direct supervision of Analysts and Administrators. This professional will be responsible and the point person for working directly with internal and external clients, including all levels of management, information technology professionals, product end users and other key stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directly manages all IT team members, operational and clinical users and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to review and understand customer requirements and specifications; clarify program intent; define and resolve issues; modify appropriate templates or documents to suit custom workflows or client needs; suggest changes; develop appropriate templates and software to suit custom workflows or client needs
Leads small to large sized projects or initiatives. Chair/Lead of IT Steering Committee (to determine high priority task to focus on as IT department)
Understands the business/clinical strategy of a particular area and proactively works with customers to define the necessary information needed to drive improvement
Supports and troubleshoot system architecture, database and performance as well as other aspects of the NextGen application at a high level with support of System Analyst
Direct lead as it relates to relationships with external vendors, to include contract negotiation and terms of agreement working directly with Chief Financial Officer
Perform other duties as required and assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of healthcare information systems, business and clinical operations, requirements analysis, and the functionality of core applications
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., The Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC guidelines, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency in technical and professional competencies, with the ability to rapidly acquire and integrate new knowledge to support the Clinic's evolving IT landscape
Skill in data analytics, problem-solving, and critical thinking to assess system performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements
Ability to evaluate, document, and present recommendations for the selection, implementation, and optimization of vendor products that align with the Clinic's operational and patient care needs
Ability to provide technical guidance and support to clinical and administrative staff, including interpreting technical specifications and troubleshooting system issues
Ability to stay informed about emerging healthcare technologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, applying relevant advancements to enhance operational efficiency and patient care

Ability to operate personal computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and other office equipment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software skills
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in management information systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Experience:
Two or more year's supervisor related experience in healthcare delivery setting required
Two or more year's professional software support and development experience with NextGen EHR/PM or other healthcare application preferred
