Summary This position is located at the Departments of Veteran Affairs in the MOVE! Program under the Nutrition and Food Services Department (N&FS). The primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide variety of administrative, clerical, and technical support to the MOVE! Program. The incumbent in this position performs work that supports patient scheduling, administrative duties and also uses office automation programs and software. Responsibilities Major duties include: Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Establishes, updates, and maintains office files and records. Keeps/@types meeting minutes, agendas and reports. Collects, assembles, and compiles data for recurring, special, and one-time administrative and management reports. Establishes suspense dates as directed by the supervisor and brings to supervisor's attention those that require prompt attention or those that cannot be met by requested dates. Performs office automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database, and/or graphics. Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text; formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving emails Uses spreadsheet software to develop and change spreadsheets in order to graphically display data. Uses patient electronic health care record to access and retrieve confidential patient information to facilitate contact and scheduling of patient appointments and consult management Schedules MOVE! appointments, prepares appointment confirmation letters, and enters appointment data. Provides clerical contact support such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures, and similar information. Serves as official timekeeper for the site and maintains service record cards for all employees. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Processing documents and reports. Establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
