This position is located in St. Paul and may have the ability to telework, after satisfactory completion of training and probationary period.
This position exists: 1) to perform data entry for farmed Cervidae program, including data related to tuberculosis and brucellosis programs, disease testing, inventory, and movement records, 2) to administer the farmed Cervidae program email inbox, 3) to answer telephone lines including farmed Cervidae and mainline phones to respond to field staff, producers, or the general public with questions and concerns about the program and to assist callers with questions about other Board programs. 4) other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Typing/Keyboardingskills sufficient to use Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to produce memos and correspondence in an efficient and timely manner, grammatically correct, in proper format and free of spelling errors.
Spreadsheetskills sufficient to use spreadsheet software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, to develop and modify spreadsheets and enter, compile, store, and retrieve data.
Data entry skills sufficient to input and verify data from source documents into a database with a highlevelofaccuracyandspeed,maintain accurate records, and locate and correct data entry errors.
DataBaseManagementskills sufficient to pull relevant data from databases and software applications, and compile in appropriate report format.
Customer Service Skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customersinperson, onthephone,andthrough-mailandother writtencorrespondence(i.e., answerquestionsandadvise customers of program policies, procedures, and regulations, etc.) and effectively communicate and elicit information with tact and diplomacy.
English(speakingand/orwritingand/orreadingorally) sufficienttocommunicateeffectively with internal and external customers and to compose and edit a variety of documents using proper business English, spelling, and grammar.
Preferred Qualifications
AdministrativeAssistant degree (AAS - HealthCare, Legal, etc.) or experience providing administrative, clerical, or paraprofessional support in an office setting.
Experienceworking with or knowledge of livestock agriculture, basic animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and animal diseases sufficient to knowledgably communicate with producers, veterinarians, and agency officials.
Knowledgeofstateandfederallawsandguidelinesrelatingtoanimal disease programs.
Knowledgeofgeneralofficeequipment,practices,proceduressufficienttodevelopandimprove work procedures and forms.
Effectiveoralandwritten communication skills sufficient to work constructively and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals including the public and others within State and Federal government agencies.
Excellentorganizationalskillssufficienttomaintainmanual and electronic files and prioritize work assignments and a strong attention to detail.
ExperiencewithsoftwareincludingMicrosoftOfficeOutlook, Word,andExcel; andAdobe Acrobat.
Physical Requirements
Physical Demands (e.g., lifting, standing, sitting, pulling) include the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and use a keyboard to enter electronic data includes sitting and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
