Temporary Building & General Construction Technician

Location: Hicksville, NY

Schedule: Friday 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM; Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3 days/week). Hours may increase based on business needs.

Pay Rate: $30.00/hour

Position Summary

The Temporary Building & General Construction Technician performs construction, repair, and facility maintenance work to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role helps maintain building infrastructure, complete GMP/CAPA action items, and support facility improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, and minor repairs.

Conduct routine building maintenance and corrective repairs.

Install, repair, and maintain doors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and other building components.

Support renovation and facility improvement projects.

Read and interpret basic drawings and specifications.

Troubleshoot facility issues and implement timely solutions.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and company safety standards.

Coordinate work with Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.

Complete work orders and required documentation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.

2-5 years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field.

Ability to communicate in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and building maintenance.

Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.

Technical or trade certification preferred.

Work Environment

Industrial/manufacturing facility setting.

Requires lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing.

May involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and confined spaces.

Overtime or emergency work may be required.
