Description

We are looking for an experienced HR Specialist to join a team as a lead-level partner supporting day-to-day human resources operations and employee support. This position offers the opportunity to contribute across employee relations, leave and accommodation administration, benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong organization, and the ability to manage sensitive matters independently while collaborating effectively with leaders and staff.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead HR resource by advising employees and managers on workplace concerns, resolving sensitive issues with discretion, and promoting consistent application of policy.

Oversee personnel actions such as onboarding, internal moves, compensation updates, and separations while ensuring records are accurate and completed on schedule.

Administer leave and accommodation programs, including FMLA, ADA-related processes, workers' compensation coordination, and related documentation in accordance with applicable regulations.

Maintain and process HR transactions in Workday, monitoring data quality and supporting efficient workflow across core HR activities.

Provide support for benefits administration by assisting with enrollments, status changes, employee questions, and educational communication.

Partner with payroll and timekeeping stakeholders to address pay-related discrepancies, corrections, and routine processing needs.

Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and tracking tools in Excel to support reporting, workforce planning, and operational decisions.

Coordinate onboarding, orientation, compliance training, and staff development activities to support employee success and organizational requirements.

Monitor HR practices for compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as internal policies, and assist with documentation, investigations, and performance-related matters.

Guide entry-level HR staff and contribute to process improvements and departmental initiatives that strengthen service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

One year minimum human resources experience

Hands-on experience working in Workday and other HRIS tools with strong attention to data accuracy.

Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other employment regulations relevant to leave, accommodations, and employee support.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and reporting.

Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism, sound judgment, and a high level of discretion.

Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
