Job Title: General Laborer Job Description
The General Laborer supports a Field Technician with the installation and repair of speed cameras at various school locations throughout Broward County. This role involves hands-on work such as transporting materials from a warehouse, using basic hand and power tools, digging, and performing a variety of physical tasks in outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
Assist the Field Technician with repairing and installing speed cameras at schools across Broward County.
Pick up and transport materials and equipment from the warehouse in Davie to job sites as needed.
Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support installation and repair activities.
Dig holes and trenches with a shovel to prepare sites for equipment installation.
Lift and carry poles, cabinets, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Operate a hand truck to move equipment and materials around the worksite.
Work on ladders to remove and handle electronic components and related hardware.
Perform overhead work, including lifting and securing components above shoulder height.
Support general labor tasks such as site preparation, cleanup, and material handling.
Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on site.
Travel frequently between different school locations and the warehouse, spending approximately 75% of the time on the road.
Communicate clearly in English with team members to ensure safe and efficient work.
Carry out other related duties as assigned to support field operations.
Essential Skills
Experience performing general construction or general labor tasks.
Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely.
Ability to lift and carry poles, cabinets, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform overhead work, including lifting and handling materials above shoulder height.
Ability to operate a hand truck to move equipment and materials.
Ability to work on ladders while removing and handling electronic components.
Ability to work outdoors in warm conditions for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, and perform repetitive physical movements throughout the shift.
Capacity to read English to follow instructions, labels, and safety information.
Ability to speak clear English to communicate with team members and supervisors.
Basic knowledge of tools and their proper use.
Possession of safety boots suitable for construction or field environments.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% of the time between sites.

Work Environment
This role is based in the Broward County area and involves working primarily at school sites where speed cameras are installed or maintained. Shifts may include early morning, daytime, or evening hours, such as 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., depending on operational needs. The position requires frequent travel, with approximately 75% of the time spent moving between the warehouse and various job sites. Work is performed outdoors in warm conditions and often involves climbing ladders, digging, lifting, and handling equipment. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, while on site to maintain a safe working environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
