Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical . Follows the Board of Nursing's (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD).
What you will do in this role:
Responsible for delivery of professional nursing care for assigned patients, performs nursing assessments/ care plan/ implementation of treatment/ evaluation of treatment/ and discharge planning.
Administers treatments/medications/procedures within scope of practice.
Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
Responsible for delegation within scope of practice to provide safe and effective care to patient population.
Integrates behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.
Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties.
Provider of Care:
Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice.
Acts as a patient advocate to implement and direct care to ensure patient safety in the clinical practice environment.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
1 year of clinical experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting.
