Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Description We are looking for an HR Generalist to support a broad range of people operations in New York. This role will help strengthen the employee experience by managing core HR activities across recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee support, and day-to-day administration. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and HR leadership.

Responsibilities:

Lead full-cycle recruitment coordination by reviewing applicants, arranging interviews, and supporting selection and offer processes.

Design and facilitate onboarding and orientation activities that help employees integrate successfully into the organization.

Foster a positive work environment by responding to employee concerns and contributing to engagement and retention efforts.

Maintain HR policies, handbook content, and related procedures while helping ensure alignment with applicable employment laws and standards.

Partner with managers on performance review activities, development planning, and employee improvement discussions.

Manage employee information within HRIS platforms and produce accurate HR reports, metrics, and documentation.

Work closely with payroll and benefits partners to support correct compensation processing and resolve employee questions related to coverage or pay.

Handle daily HR administrative operations and contribute to broader departmental projects and strategic initiatives led by HR leadership. Requirements - Experience supporting multiple human resources functions, including employee relations, HR administration, and onboarding.

Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance practices at the local, state, and federal levels.

Proficiency with HRIS systems and maintaining accurate employee records and reporting.

Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration processes and employee support in these areas.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Excellent organization, discretion, and attention to detail when handling sensitive information.

Ability to manage competing priorities, follow through on deadlines, and support both operational and strategic HR needs.
