Job Duties:Provides legal guidance and support on matters affecting the agency. Researches and interprets laws, rules, and regulations; drafts legal opinions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents; and advises agency leadership and staff. Supports civil litigation by coordinating with the Office of the Attorney General and assisting with case preparation. Reviews and develops legislation, analyzes legislative impact, and collaborates with agency leadership, legislative staff, and external partners.You'd be a GOOD fit if:You have graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a JurisDoctor (J.D.) degree and have two years full-time, wage-earning experience as a licensed attorney.Organized, good time management, ability to travel, ability to work independently and collaboratively.You'd be a GREAT fit if:You have experience as a legal counsel in a governmental agency, and/or experience in administrative, contract, criminal, or labor/employment law.You have experience in program development experience in a legal field, Litigation experience in state or federal court, and /or experience in the supervision of employees.
