Job Title: Masker & De-Masker starting pay 18+ an hour
Job Description
The Masker prepares aerospace components for further processing by cleaning, inspecting, and precisely masking metal and composite surfaces. This role focuses on protecting designated areas of parts using specialized masking materials and tools to ensure high-quality paint and finishing results in a production environment.
Responsibilities
Clean and inspect metal and composite aerospace components prior to processing to ensure surfaces meet quality standards.
Prepare component surfaces by removing contaminants and verifying readiness for masking and paint preparation.
Accurately apply masking tape, films, plugs, and custom caps to protect specific areas of components according to work orders and specifications.
Safely use hand tools, razor blades, and precision cutting instruments to trim masking materials to exact dimensions.
Perform detailed masking and de-masking tasks to support painting, paint prep, and general production activities.
Apply touch-up trim as needed to maintain finish quality and meet production requirements.
Follow written work orders and instructions to complete masking, assembly, packing, and general labor tasks.
Conduct visual inspection of masked and de-masked parts to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to aerospace standards.
Handle components carefully to avoid damage and maintain cleanliness throughout the masking and painting preparation process.
Collaborate with production and painting teams to support workflow and meet schedule and quality objectives.
Essential Skills
Experience with masking processes in a production or manufacturing environment.
Ability to clean, inspect, and prepare surfaces of metal and composite components.
Proficiency in applying masking tape, films, plugs, and custom caps with high accuracy.
Skilled use of hand tools, razor blades, and precision cutting instruments for trimming masking materials.
Strong hand dexterity and fine motor skills for detailed masking and de-masking work.
Ability to read and follow work orders and written instructions.
Experience with general labor and general production tasks.
Basic understanding of inspection practices to verify masking quality.
Ability to perform paint prep and apply touch-up paint as required.
Capability to work safely with tools and materials in a warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
aerospace manufacturing or working with aerospace components.
Experience supporting painting operations, including paint prep and packing.
Familiarity with assembly tasks related to production workflows.
Comfort performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $45.00/hr.
