Job Description
This 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor role leads a hands-on maintenance team in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. You will oversee and develop a group of skilled maintenance technicians while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role supports all production, packaging, utility, and facility equipment and offers a visible leadership opportunity within a company investing significantly in facility expansion and future automation.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
Assign and prioritize daily preventive maintenance activities and corrective work orders to ensure efficient use of resources.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and repair for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
Support the maintenance and operation of production, packaging, processing, utility, and facility equipment.
Utilize CMMS software to create, manage, and track maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
Monitor equipment performance and drive improvements in reliability, uptime, and overall efficiency.
Coordinate maintenance resources to support production schedules and minimize unplanned downtime.
Maintain maintenance parts inventory and assist with inventory control processes to ensure critical spares are available.
Support equipment startups, changeovers, and capital improvement projects, including new installations and upgrades.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and food manufacturing standards.
Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and production leadership to support plant goals and future growth initiatives.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide occasional off-shift support as needed to maintain plant operations.
Essential Skills
5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to guide and develop a team.
Proven maintenance experience in a fast-paced production or processing environment.
Dual-craft or multi-craft maintenance experience with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Hands-on experience with 480V electrical systems.
Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
Proficiency with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience with mechanical power transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and practices.
Proficiency using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for work orders and scheduling.
Experience with maintenance repair, facilities maintenance, and general plant utilities.
Electrical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting experience.
Experience with plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems in an industrial setting.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and provide occasional off-shift support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other highly regulated production environments strongly preferred.
Experience with robotics or automation systems.
PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics experience beyond basic operation.
Experience supporting automated packaging or processing equipment.
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems (nice to have)
Experience leading equipment upgrades, capital projects, or continuous improvement initiatives (nice to have)
Experience supervising maintenance teams or leading maintenance supervision activities.
Familiarity with safety programs and maintenance best practices in regulated environments.

Work Environment
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility that includes refrigerated production areas and warehouse spaces. You will work on 2nd shift in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment that requires frequent interaction with production, packaging, processing, utility, and facility equipment. The maintenance team relies on a variety of tools and technologies, including CMMS software, PLC-controlled systems, 480V electrical equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical power transmission, HVAC, and refrigeration systems. The facility operates under strict food safety and quality standards, and all work must comply with established safety and sanitation procedures. Expect a hands-on role that involves time on the production floor, in refrigerated areas, and within equipment rooms and utility spaces.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
