Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description
This role supports daily operations in a fast-paced steel manufacturing facility by assisting with the production, processing, and handling of steel products. The Production Associate ensures safe and efficient workflow, operates and supports equipment, and helps maintain high standards of quality and safety across the production floor.
Responsibilities
Assist with the manufacturing, processing, and handling of steel piling, pipe, and structural products to support daily production goals.
Load and unload steel materials safely, ensuring proper tagging, staging, and storage according to company procedures.
Perform quality checks on materials by verifying measurements, specifications, and overall product integrity using appropriate tools.
Follow production schedules and work orders to meet daily output targets and maintain an efficient workflow.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
Support machine operators and welders by preparing materials, staging components, and coordinating workflow needs.
Operate or assist with hand tools, power tools, and production equipment as directed to complete assigned tasks.
Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or production delays promptly to supervisors to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.
Participate in daily safety meetings and strictly follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
Contribute to a team-oriented environment by communicating effectively and assisting coworkers as needed to complete production tasks.
Essential Skills
Ability to accurately use a tape measure to verify dimensions and ensure materials meet specifications.
Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a production, construction, or industrial environment.
Experience in field labor, construction, assembly, or similar hands-on work requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
Capability to support machine operation in a manufacturing setting, including material handling and basic equipment assistance.
Strong focus on safety and adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols.
Ability to follow production schedules, work orders, and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
Capacity to perform quality checks on materials and identify defects or discrepancies.
Willingness to work overtime when business needs require it.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in steel manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial production is beneficial.
Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment with varying temperatures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled steel manufacturing facility where temperatures can vary with the seasons. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an average of approximately 44 hours per week and occasional extended days, up to 14 hours, when business needs require it. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, involving regular use of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment, as well as frequent material handling of steel products. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
