Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to track project costs accurately and maintain financial control at the project level.
Prepare and process project billing in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project milestones.
Support revenue recognition activities by reviewing project progress, costs, and billing to ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
Maintain and reconcile project accounts, including accounts receivable related to project billing and collections.
Prepare and update job cost reports and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules to provide clear visibility into project performance and profitability.
Use ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, Sage, or similar platforms to enter, maintain, and analyze project financial data.
Perform regular reconciliations of project-related accounts to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Utilize Excel tools, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas, to analyze project financial data and support reporting needs.
Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders, including field and office teams, by addressing project accounting inquiries and issues.
Support finance leadership with project-related reporting, analysis, and ad hoc requests as needed.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ownership, and accountability in all aspects of project accounting activities.
Essential Skills
Approximately 2 years of project accounting experience, preferably in construction or electrical contracting.
Experience with project billing, job cost reporting, and WIP schedules.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas.
High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with field and office teams.
Hands-on experience with accounting functions such as reconciliation, billing, accounts receivable, and data entry.
Familiarity with construction or contracting environments and related project accounting practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience in construction, electrical contracting, or similar project-based industries.
Experience using Viewpoint Vista specifically is a plus.
Strong customer service mindset when working with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work Environment
This role is based in Houston within a dynamic and fast-paced project-driven environment. You will work closely with both field and office teams, collaborating across operations and finance to support active projects. The position relies heavily on technology, including ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista or Sage, as well as frequent use of Excel for reporting and analysis. The work setting emphasizes accuracy, accountability, and collaboration, providing opportunities to engage directly with project managers, operations staff, and finance leadership.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $43.27/hr.
