Summary You will serve as a COMBINED TRADES SUPERVISOR I in the Production Resources Department of of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will supervise work crews consisting of employees from various Shops and Codes in the shipyard. You will assign work to subordinates and instruct workers on requirements, methods, and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. You will inspect work while in progress and upon completion. You will change work plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to reduce or control costs and maintain the work schedule. You will determine what work needs to be turned over to the next shift and ensure that the nature and scope of work is communicated clearly. You will enforce regulations and maintain standards for rules on conduct, safety, and housekeeping. You will supervise employees in shops or aboard ships performing complex tasks to assure compliance with technical directives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
