Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join the finance team in Fontana, California. In this role, you will help keep vendor payments accurate, timely, and aligned with company standards by reviewing invoices, coordinating approvals, and maintaining organized financial records. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal teams and suppliers while supporting reporting, reconciliations, and month-end activities.

Responsibilities:

Review incoming supplier invoices to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance before payment is issued

Compare purchase order invoices against approved purchasing documents and work with the appropriate teams to address any differences

Send non-purchase-order invoices through the proper approval path and verify that required signoffs are secured before processing

Enter invoice details into the financial system with correct vendor data and general ledger assignments

Track outstanding approvals and follow up with stakeholders to keep invoice processing on schedule

Investigate billing discrepancies, payment concerns, and invoice errors by coordinating with vendors and internal departments

Answer vendor questions related to payment status, account balances, and unresolved items

Reconcile supplier accounts, review statements for accuracy, and maintain well-organized accounts payable records

Share weekly payment totals ahead of disbursement runs and provide support for audits, reporting, and month-end close activities Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support position

Hands-on experience processing invoices, assigning accounting codes, and supporting check or payment runs

Strong ability to review detailed financial information with a high level of accuracy

Familiarity with matching invoices to purchase orders and handling non-PO approval workflows

Effective communication skills for working with vendors and cross-functional internal teams

Ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain organized financial records

Proficiency using accounting or enterprise systems and standard business software for data entry and tracking
