Job Title: Manufacturing Lead
Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead oversees day-to-day manufacturing activities to ensure products are produced efficiently, accurately, safely, and on schedule. This role provides clear direction and leadership to manufacturing technicians, supports hands-on operation of production equipment and in-process instrumentation, and ensures strict adherence to quality system regulations, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Manufacturing Lead recognizes deviations from standard practices, follows established procedures and guidelines, and drives continuous improvement through good documentation practices and the use of statistical techniques. This position also mentors and coaches technicians to build a high-performing, quality-focused team.
Responsibilities
Perform all work in full compliance with company policies and within the guidelines of the quality system.
Provide daily direction and guidance to team members in the assigned area to ensure products are manufactured on time and in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Manufacture, assemble, and ship regulated products and sub-assemblies, including medical devices of a radioactive nature, in line with quality and safety standards.
Operate production equipment within controlled environments, following established operating procedures and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Review team timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Support training and development of team members, including onboarding, skills progression, and regular check-ins and one-on-ones, escalating employee relations issues as appropriate.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of all designated manufacturing areas, ensuring a safe and orderly workspace.
Assist with in-process testing to confirm that batches meet defined specifications and quality requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, materials, and parts to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Assist with maintenance activities to keep equipment and production areas in proper working condition.
Provide mentorship and coaching to Manufacturing Technicians to build capability, accountability, and engagement.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including documentation, safety, and quality standards.
Follow all safety rules and safety precautions, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of hazardous and radioactive materials.

Become an authorized user in one or more designated areas of the facility, as required by role and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations and business needs.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or operations experience.
At least 1 year of medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience handling radioactive materials in a radiation-controlled environment preferred.
Supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide clear direction and effectively communicate tasks and instructions from management to Manufacturing Technicians.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across functions.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a high delivery manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute averages, rates, and percentages, and to draw and interpret bar charts and similar data presentations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to travel for work as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, production, assembly, packaging, and laboratory or cleanroom environments.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
Leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and guide team members.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulated manufacturing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
Experience in medical device manufacturing environments, particularly involving radioactive materials, is highly advantageous.
Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Experience with process improvement, including identifying and implementing improvements in processes, tooling, equipment, and materials.
Experience working in laboratory, cleanroom, or radiation-controlled environments.
Familiarity with quality system regulations (QSRs) and related regulatory requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in leading or supporting training programs for manufacturing personnel.
Comfort working with Standard Operating Procedures and good documentation practices.
Ability to embody and promote shared values, contributing positively to team culture.

Work Environment
The role operates across office space, supply rooms, laboratories, and cleanroom environments, providing exposure to a range of controlled and regulated settings. You will frequently work with hazardous materials and chemicals, using appropriate personal protective equipment and following strict safety precautions. The position requires frequent fine hand-eye coordination and regular use of laboratory and manufacturing equipment, as well as standard office tools such as computers, keyboards, mice, monitors, and other office devices. The job is largely stationary, with periods of moving between work areas, and involves regularly lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Some evening and weekend work may be required based on workload, and occasional overnight travel may be needed for work-related activities and events. Dress and personal protective equipment will align with laboratory, cleanroom, and radiation-controlled environment standards, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
