Job Description
This role focuses on running long-run production on CNC Haas mill machines in a precision manufacturing environment. You will primarily work with aluminum and occasionally with precious metals, loading material into vises, initiating machine cycles, and ensuring equipment runs correctly. The position involves visual inspection of parts using standard quality tools and working from blueprints on repeat jobs to produce high-quality components for specialized applications.
Responsibilities
Run long-run production on CNC Haas mill machines, ensuring consistent and accurate output.
Load aluminum and other metals, including precious metals, into machine vises and securely set up workpieces.
Start and monitor machine cycles, verifying that the CNC equipment operates safely and properly throughout the run.
Perform visual inspection of machined parts using micrometers, pin gauges, calipers, and other general quality equipment.
Follow blueprints and work instructions to complete repeat jobs and maintain dimensional accuracy.
Deburr parts as needed to meet quality and finish standards.
Support machining and medical device/medical assembly work by producing components to required specifications.
Work collaboratively in a small shop environment to meet production goals and quality requirements.
Essential Skills
At least 6 months of CNC operation experience, preferably on mill machines.
Ability to read and work from blueprints to complete repeat and production jobs.
Basic knowledge of CNC machining processes and machine operation.
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and other general quality equipment.
Capability to perform deburring and basic finishing on machined parts.
Comfort working with aluminum and other metals in a production environment.
Attention to detail and strong visual inspection skills to verify part quality.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
Additional Skills:
Technical degree or formal training in Machine Tool Technology is a plus.
Exposure to medical device or medical assembly work is advantageous.
Willingness to learn additional machining and machine operation skills over time.
Why Work Here?
You will join a smaller, close-knit aerospace-focused shop that offers genuine opportunities to grow into a skilled trade. The environment emphasizes hands-on training, especially for individuals starting in deburring or assembly, with clear paths to learn how to run machines and expand technical capabilities. Team members benefit from exposure to unique and interesting projects, including government and military-grade work, in a setting that values development, mentorship, and long-term career growth.
Work Environment
The role is based in a small, wide-open shop located near a major highway, equipped with newer Haas mill machines and Citizen Swiss machines, as well as an older horizontal Haas mill used for this position. The facility maintains a cleanliness level around 7.5 out of 10 and supports a collaborative, production-oriented atmosphere. You will work with aerospace and government project parts, including military-grade equipment, using modern CNC technology and standard quality tools in a straightforward, practical shop environment!
