Job Title: Manufacturing Associate
Job Description
The Manufacturing Associate sets up, operates, and monitors multiple CNC machines in a climate-controlled automotive manufacturing environment, performing precise quality inspections and frequent tool changes to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
Responsibilities
Set up multiple CNC machines at the start of and throughout each shift according to production requirements and specifications.
Operate and monitor CNC machines to ensure consistent, high-quality output throughout the shift.
Perform frequent tool changes on machines multiple times per shift to maintain accuracy and productivity.
Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure and verify parts meet dimensional and quality standards.
Conduct regular quality inspections on finished and in-process parts, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines while working with CNC equipment and inspection tools.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production goals and resolve basic mechanical or setup issues.
Adapt to a high-overtime schedule and reliably work every day of the week as required by production demands.
Essential Skills
Experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality inspection.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how manufacturing equipment functions.
Ability to perform multiple tool changes per shift and adjust machines as needed.
Willingness and ability to work significant overtime and be available to work every day of the week.
Capacity to work 12-hour shifts on either A Shift (6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.) or B Shift (6:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.).
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards in an automotive manufacturing setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments.
Experience in quality inspection or quality control using measurement tools.
Interest in growing into leadership roles over time.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and correct basic machine or setup issues.
Reliability and consistency in adhering to demanding production schedules.

Work Environment
This role is based in a climate-controlled automotive manufacturing facility focused on high-volume CNC production. You work on either A Shift (6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.) or B Shift (6:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.), with extensive overtime and daily work expectations to meet production demands. The environment includes multiple CNC machines and precision inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow, providing a structured setting where you can focus on machine operation and quality inspection.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
