Description We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of a mission-driven non-profit organization in North Charleston, South Carolina. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling a mix of accounting support, records management, and office coordination. The role works closely with finance leadership to help maintain accurate documentation, support fiscal activities, and keep essential processes moving efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Support finance leadership with administrative and clerical tasks tied to departmental operations, reporting, and daily workflow.

Maintain organized financial and operational records, including electronic files, retained documents, and off-site storage tracking.

Assist with fixed asset documentation by recording updates, monitoring inventory details, and helping keep asset records current.

Coordinate travel logistics for employees and board members, process advance requests, and reconcile related expense documentation.

Prepare and track vehicle titles, registrations, maintenance activity, accident documentation, and insurance claim records.

Review utilization and contract-related documents, route materials to the appropriate team members, and maintain accurate filing for compliance purposes.

Handle courier-related duties such as bank deposits and interoffice document delivery while supporting timely distribution of finance paperwork.

Scan and distribute approved purchasing documents and help maintain a structured electronic filing system for finance records. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in accounting, finance support, or office administration is preferred.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and accurate data entry practices.

Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats and collaborate effectively with staff across departments.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple records, deadlines, and administrative details with accuracy.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with general office equipment.

Experience supporting fixed asset recordkeeping or maintaining detailed financial documentation is helpful.

Valid South Carolina driver's license required.
