LOCATION: Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

SCHEDULE: Per Diem (PRN)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operational Finance Consultant is responsible for examining and analyzing proposed and current financial/operational models within the LGH entity to ensure future return on investment and alignment with entity and system strategic plans. Utilizes evidence-based strategies to assess new or current business operations ensuring synergistic focus of resources and non- duplication of investment within departments or business units. Recommends financial improvement plans for key services in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve optimal future state ensuring quality, sustainability and patient access. This role will also oversee tracking and advancement of strategic initiatives to achieve milestones and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collaborates with stakeholders and executive leadership to proactively identify strategies that enhance the value proposition of delivered services.

Performs prioritized assessment of proposed or existing services based on contribution margin and /or strategic value which includes recommendations for expansion, contraction or alignment of services within the entity or system.

Works with entity leadership to implement specific strategies for fiscal sustainability; maintains responsibility for oversight of financial performance plans for the entity.

Oversees coordination, tracking and advancement of strategic initiatives as well as resource needs of internal functional areas as needed to achieve work plans on time and on budget.

Develops and tracks progress of comprehensive business plans that support achievement of entity operational and strategic goals.

Consistently and effectively communicates with the executive team and other senior leadership regarding resources, timelines and at risk goal achievement.

Oversee operations of admissions, ED and WBH registration teams, Utilization management and centralized scheduling.

Will provide subject matter expertise to multiple financial system conversions, including EPIC, Beaker, Hyperion, WFM, and Strata.

Completes ad hoc analyses and projects on an as needed basis.

Serves as a trusted advisor to the finance and accounting department.

Position is considered flexible schedule and hybrid work eligible.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or a related field

Two years Health system revenue cycle experience with two years as a manager/director of Patient Financial Services or eight years managing various components of a system's revenue cycle.

Five years of general health system financial process management experience.

Previous experience with extensive analysis of financial information.

Previous experience with the interpretation of financial statements and reports.

PREFERRED REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Management, Finance or approved related field

Five years Health system revenue cycle experience with five years as a manager/director of Patient Financial Services or eight years managing various components of a system's revenue cycle.

Three years experience in billing third party payers.

Three years experience in automated registration and billing systems.
