UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, AEMT to support Dauphin-Perry County.

Schedule: 7:00pm-7:00am (Night Shift)

This position does require the availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

This position qualifies for a $2500.00 sign-on bonus with 1-year work commitment!

Responsibilities:

Maintains clean patient environment as well as crew quarters

Ensures safe operation of patient laden stretcher employing appropriate stretcher discipline at all times.

Maintains safe loading, unloading, adjustment of head of stretcher, and stretcher movement.

Reflects a positive attitude to the customer in a high stress environment at all times, with a clear understanding of who the customer is.

Reports injuries and completes the appropriate documentation, no matter how minor, to a supervisor in a timely manner.

Maintains fitness for duty by adhering to all employee health requirements, including maximum weight, hearing conservation program, and required medical screenings.

Responsible for the safe operation of the transport vehicle and ensures a safe environment for patient and other healthcare workers in and around CEM vehicles.

Completes all official documentation in a timely manner such as payroll, expense reports, orientation forms, etc.

Utilizes appropriate safety channels to report safety concerns and uses tools available to enhance a safe work environment.

Performs daily equipment check (vehicle, medications)

Maintains and ensures adequate vehicle operation including proper fuel, fluid levels, lights, sirens, radio, cellular phone functioning.

Works with Regional Medical Manager to ensure all mechanical deficiencies are corrected.

Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with customers; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances, environment, or patient presentation.

Responds promptly and efficiently to all requests for service.

Participates in shift report from off going crew

Adhering to the drug and alcohol policy at all times. including prescription and/or over the counter medicine use.

Adheres to the current uniform policy.

Adheres to rules for scheduling, including schedule requests, minimum time, and availability.

1 year EMT experience.

High School Diploma (or equivalent) required

1 professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by your Manager.

Previous ambulance and/or hospital experience preferred.

Reliable transportation and be willing to travel to any STAT MedEvac base site as assigned.

Must be able to successfully complete the prescribed orientation program, including classroom, clinical rotations, educational competencies, and on the job training.

Must work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:North Central Pennsylvania and Central Pennsylvania allow for the Emergency Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.NIMS Incident Command, NIMS Single Resources, NIMS Introduction Course

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic OR Paramedic

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Driver's License

Emergency Vehicle Operator

Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

Act 33 with renewal

Act 34 with renewal

Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
