We have an immediate opening for a Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer.

As a Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer, you will be leading projects to fit out our data centers to meet ever-evolving customer needs as we continue expanding our fleet to hyper-scale. Possess Strong Engineering Judgement and are able to provide design and recommendations despite uncertainty
Are detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes
Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.
Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)
Manage design and as built drawings and documents
Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders
Be inclined to get into the field to see things up close
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. Upon application you will be asked qualifying questions that will be used only in relation to the US Government Security Clearance required for this role.
Key job responsibilities
As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. You will use your mechanical expertise to:
Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
Act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

You will prioritize your activities to support data center safety, remediation projects, capacity, and availability, focusing on the actions that are most impactful. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally.

Basic Qualifications
4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer License
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
