What the Hiring Manager Wants

Research-minded data scientist, not just a model user

Evidence of owning and designing ML solutions from scratch

Strong problem-solving framework and structured thinking

Ability to articulate the logic behind every major project decision

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in insurance, risk management, fraud detection, or claims analytics

Experience with claim severity modeling or risk scoring

Experience with record linkage, entity resolution, or fuzzy matching

Familiarity with AWS, SageMaker, Snowflake, or similar platforms

Experience supporting BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Familiarity with MLOps practices (model versioning, monitoring, retraining)

Data Environment

Large volume of unstructured, largely unlabeled data

Limited identifiers available, making traditional supervised learning difficult

-Candidate should have experience working with messy, incomplete enterprise datasets

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $115.00/hr.
