Job Title: Aerospace Paint Technician
Job Description
This role applies precision paint finishes to panels and lenses with minimal variation to meet stringent customer photometric and color specifications. The position focuses on accurate color matching, consistent paint application, and adherence to production timelines while supporting continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
Apply paint to panels and lenses with minimal variation to meet customer photometric and color specifications within established time standards.
Balance color and appearance for lighted displays to ensure they meet brightness, contrast, and visual requirements.
Mix and apply paint to meet exact color requirements, including custom blends, using paint mixing and matching tools and software.
Operate and maintain spray guns and paint sprayers to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes on small parts and components.
Use photometers and Minolta instruments to measure and verify photometric and color performance against customer specifications.
Interpret and use color charts, including reading and plotting colors on charts, to ensure accurate color alignment.
Prepare and sand panels to meet brightness and surface finish requirements prior to painting.
Work with detailed parts, including clearing light holes, adjusting contrast, coloring light holes or letters, and tilting lamps to achieve required customer specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and related documentation to understand painting and finishing requirements.
Ensure on-time delivery by maintaining productivity, following department schedules, and coordinating work to meet production deadlines.
Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external customer requests, understand their requirements, and build productive working relationships.
Recommend ways to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and eliminate unnecessary expenses in the painting and finishing process.
Handle chemicals safely, including the safe handling of paints and related materials, and clean small spills as needed.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
React productively to changes in priorities, products, or processes and perform other related duties as required.
Accurately complete all related paperwork and wanding activities to document work performed and maintain accurate production records.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
