JR. MACHINERY MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - GDIT

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT)

Full-Time | On-Site | Security Clearance Required

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

? Security clearance level: Secret

? US citizenship required

The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic must have:

? Education: High School Diploma/GED

? Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, facilities upkeep, or a related mechanical field (entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude may be considered).

?Technical Knowledge:

Basic understanding of mechanical components (gears, bearings, belts) and familiarity with the safe operation of common hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.

??Preventive Maintenance: Assist senior mechanics in performing routine preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.

Basic troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing issues under supervision.

Utilize precision instruments effectively, including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges, to ensure equipment meets exact specifications.

Operate and maintain various mechanical systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, general diesel engine theory, pumps, and valves.

Maintain a very strong and strict adherence to all workplace safety guidelines, hazard controls, and operational instructions.

Accurately follow complex instructions and technical procedures.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.55 - $26.45. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
