Responsibilities
Serve as a key point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and support throughout their healthcare experience.
Assist with patient intake, registration, and verification of demographic and insurance information.
Accurately enter and maintain patient information within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Coordinate patient appointments, follow-up visits, referrals, and testing as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to support efficient patient care and office operations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Answer patient questions and provide assistance regarding appointments, forms, and general office procedures.
Support patient flow and ensure a welcoming, professional, and organized healthcare environment.
Assist with general administrative and patient care coordination tasks as needed.
Contribute to a positive team culture focused on delivering outstanding patient care.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a healthcare, medical office, or clinical setting preferred.
Strong patient service skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards preferred.
Familiarity with cardiology or specialty healthcare practices is a plus.
Medical Assistant certification is welcomed but not required.

Work Environment
This position is based in a professional cardiology specialty practice that operates Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30/5:00 p.m. Team members work closely with providers, clinical staff, and patients to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care. The role combines patient interaction, care coordination, documentation, and operational support in a collaborative healthcare setting dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
