GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Supports the 153d Airlift Wing's facilities, including 17 main habitable buildings totaling 400,000 square feet of heated space. To maintain, repair, inspect, and upgrade electrical distribution, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems, and provide critical protection of C-130 aircraft and building occupants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.
Maintain electrical components through preventative maintenance of systems and equipment. From simple repair or replacement of lighting fixtures and electrical devices to advanced maintenance and programming of fire alarm systems and complex electrical components. This work requires knowledge of electrical code, building code, and safe work practices.
Install new power and lighting circuits where needed, generator and automatic switchgear systems, and any electrical system necessary. Demo existing areas, calculate, redesign, and reconfigure them to suit the new demands of occupants. Estimate time and materials to complete projects efficiently.
Monitor, program, and maintain through a regularly scheduled fire alarm program. Troubleshoot fire alarm systems when necessary and add to or remove components to suit the system as needed.
Maintain the lightning protection systems (LPS) of critical facilities on base. Repair and replace broken and worn parts in the system. Perform and record annual physical and visual inspections of the systems.
Review of electrical projects. Review blueprints and submittals of new facilities and remodel projects. Read the specifications of the projects and look over the blueprints at various stages of inception. Give input as to code requirements, electrical design, and equipment layout or placement. Work with the engineers and construction contractors to troubleshoot design deficiencies.
Assist other trades to complete multi-trade tasks such as replacing pumps, installing air conditioning or heating units, or general labor duties. Provide technical expertise when asked about equipment that requires multiple inputs from several trades.
Must be able to acquire and maintain a security clearance.
Participate in snow removal as required/member of snow team.
Computer knowledge, iEMS, Builder, Word, Excel, time sheets, and ordering parts.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to those applicants with a Journeyman level licensing and must be able to show the licensing in the State of Wyoming.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of electrical principles and practices for maintaining a functioning electrical system to include high voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
Specialized systems such as fire alarms and security systems.
Ability to work with mechanical systems such as generators, controls, and motors.
Must be able to troubleshoot most electrical systems in a timely manner so that facilities can function at or near 100% of capability.
Knowledge of the electrical trade's tools, materials, methods, and practices.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working in and out of doors presents many different working conditions (snow, rain, wind, dust, and dirt).
Travel as required, employee must be able to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
A valid Wyoming driver's license is required for this position.
This individual will also be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
This is an essential personnel position; the individual will be required to report to the base on short notice at times for emergency maintenance and snow removal.
