Job Title: Superintendent of Construction
Job Description
This short-term contract role is for a Superintendent of Construction overseeing a ground-up convenience store and fuel station project. The position focuses on managing site civil operations, including utilities, grading, paving, earthwork, and stormwater systems, while keeping the project on schedule, within budget, and compliant with safety and quality standards. The Superintendent will coordinate multiple subcontractors on a commercial construction site and ensure consistent communication, documentation, and adherence to project plans throughout the 12-14 week assignment.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day site civil construction activities for a ground-up convenience store and fuel station project, including utilities, earthwork, grading, paving, and stormwater systems.
Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
Maintain and update project schedules to keep the project on track and within the established timeline.
Monitor project costs and resource usage to help ensure work remains within budget.
Enforce safety standards on site and promote a strong safety culture in alignment with OSHA requirements.
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets required standards and specifications.
Use construction management software, such as Procore or Bluebeam, to document daily activities, track progress, and manage project information.
Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on schedule, safety, quality, and any issues that may impact project delivery.
Review plans, drawings, and specifications to plan and sequence work effectively and identify potential conflicts or constraints.
Support problem-solving on site by addressing field issues, coordinating solutions with subcontractors, and adjusting plans as needed to maintain progress.
Essential Skills
Approximately 5+ years of construction experience, preferably on commercial site development projects.
Experience working as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or in a similar supervisory role on commercial construction projects.
Strong background in site civil construction, including utilities, earthwork, grading, paving, concrete activities, and stormwater systems.
Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on active job sites.
Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage project schedules for commercial construction projects.
Experience with quality control processes on construction sites.
Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of construction safety practices and standards.
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience in project management and site construction oversight.
Ability to work on ground-up commercial construction projects from site development through completion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with general contractors on commercial construction projects.

Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques.
Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders on a construction project.
Interest in gaining additional experience as a Superintendent for a general contractor.
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite at an active commercial construction site for a ground-up convenience store and fuel station. The Superintendent works in a field environment, overseeing site civil activities such as utilities, earthwork, grading, paving, concrete work, and stormwater systems. The position requires regular presence on the job site throughout the 12-14 week project duration, with frequent interaction with subcontractors, trades, and project stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced and schedule-driven, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to project timelines. Standard construction site attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required while on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
